ABOUT
A Study in Chaos, Reclamation, and Light
A conceptual sculptural lamp created during a period of great chaos, the work reimagines a former tulip-shaded lamp through the assemblage of whole and cracked light bulbs, fluidly wrapped metal wire, and a weathered, rusted arched metal structure. The exposed plastic lamp socket is concealed beneath the wire, transforming a functional component into part of the sculpture’s intricate composition. Resembling a cluster of glass grapes suspended from a vine, the work brings together fragility, tension, and unexpected beauty. Through the reworking of an existing object, the lamp becomes a study in transformation: a convergence of damaged and intact forms held together through improvisation and gesture. Considered for exhibition, the sculpture survives in a single photograph, its physical form now lost to time. The image remains as a trace of the work’s existence, preserving a moment when chaos was given material form and reconfigured into something luminous.
